I just received this order of DIY supplies from ripstopbytheroll.com.
Here’s a little rundown of what I ordered:
- 3 yards .66oz/yd2 membrane nylon taffeta (blaze orange)
- 3 yards .66oz/yd2 membrane nylon taffeta (olive yellow)
- 1 yard (I’m going to order more) .5 oz/yd2 noseeum mesh
- Some 1″ polyester webbing
- 1 yard 2.2oz/yd2 hex70 XL ripstop nylon (grey)
- 1 yard 2.2oz/yd2 hex70 XL ripstop nylon (olive yellow)
- Blaze orange thread!!!
The lightweight taffeta will be used for the shell of a new quilt I’m working on. The noseeum will form the baffles. Needless to say, it’s going to be a colorful quilt… I’m tired of the traditional black and grey, it’s time to branch out.
The webbing will be used for some tree straps for a hammock I’ll be building soon too.
The heavier duty material will be put to use when constructing my DIY backpack project!
I’m hoping to document all of these projects on the youtube channel, so there is plenty of DIY coming (relatively) soonish for you do-it-yourselfers out there.
